The Rough Shore

Fast asleep The body falls deeper towards the kingdom; Sad and low lies the dark soil. Pearls of sweat grow on skin Out of remorse, perhaps sorrow, The sweat trickles soundlessly To carry the numb body to another water territory. Against the wall lashes the rain and wind; The bleak long journey comes endless. The pane slowly clears Sprites of time become restless—— With one line rushing to the sky, The other slips further into the dismal heart.
