夏菁
Hsia Ching
夏菁，是盛志澄的笔名，浙江嘉兴人．美国科罗拉多州立大学硕士，曾任联合国专家及科罗拉多教授等职。夏菁是台湾 “蓝星诗社” 创始人之一，是《诗天空》双语季刊顾问。自1954年出版第一本诗集起，已有九种，包括近年出版的《雪岭》(2003)和《夏菁短诗选》(2004)等。另出版有散文四种。其诗文，近年来常在美国、台湾、香港中文报纸及期刊发表。夏菁现居科罗拉多州的可临视堡。
Hsia Ching, the pen name of Ted (Tse) C. Sheng, was born in Zhejiang, China in 1925. He received his M.S. degree from the Colorado State University (1966) and has worked with the United Nations and taught at the Colorado State University. Hsia Ching was one of the founders of the Blue Stars Poetry Society in Taiwan in early Fifties. Since his first collection of poems published in 1954, he has produced a total of nine volumes of poems including the recent two: A Snow-capped Peak (2003) and Selected Poems of Hsia Ching (2004).

王季文, 1924 生于江苏昆山。1949年毕业于英国皇家海军学校, 在台湾服役海军二十余年至舰长级退役。1970年後, 在高雄加工出口区任职, 直到1989二次退休。在他众多的翻译作品中, 晚近的有《宋词英译》(台湾皇冠出版社出版) 和《滕王閣序》等。他现居加州。
C. W. Wang was born in Jiangsu in 1924. A 1949 graduate from the British Royal Naval School, he served in the Navy in Taiwan for two decades and retired at the rank of Captain. In 1970 he joined the Kaohsiung Export Processing Zone Administration until his second retirement in 1989. Among his many translation works published, the recent ones include Songs of Sung Dynasty and An Introduction to the Pavilion of Prince of Tang. Wang is now living in California.

西湖、温柔的眼神
美目盼兮
千里迢迢
这种眼神, 我知道
映在花港观鱼的水里
藏在苏堤的拱桥
隐隐约约, 寻寻覓觅
暮暮朝朝
那种眼神, 那种温柔
只有在晨昏交替之际
山色有无之中
以及爱你的人一颦一笑
才能找得到
美目盼兮
虽然千里迢迢
你的眼神
我避不开, 躲不了

The West Lake, tender eyes
How beautiful her charming glance
A thousand miles away, yet
This look in her eyes, I know:
Reflects upon the water of "Hua Gang"
Hides at the arch bridge of Su Di*
Just visible, just obscured; seeking, searching
Day and night
That look, that kind of tenderness
only when night and day begin to change
only when the mountain hue is uncertain
and when a loved one flashes a smile
is it found.
How beautiful is her charming glance
Although it is a thousand miles away
That look in your eyes
I can not evade, can not escape
* Hua Gang and Su Di are the name of places. The former
means floral cove and the latter, dyke built by Poet Su
Dong Po.

柔柔像纱帕的戏弄
春之来
从停停歇歇的雨里
丝丝将新绿梳洗
春之来
在千呼万唤的中途
郁金香终於出土
在冰雪初溶的溪里
春之来
汩汩似我的脉息
在眼前、耳际和唇边
春之来
若诗的不可避免

Spring is arriving
With the waves of a frontal breeze
Soft as a brushing handkerchief
Spring is arriving
With the intermittent rains
Gently combing the new green
Spring is arriving
Amid hundreds of bird calls
Tulips are finally sprouting
At the newly melted icy creeks
Spring is arriving
With the gurgling of my beating pulse
At my eyes, ears and lips
Spring is arriving
Like unavoidable poetry
