夏菁，是盛志澄的笔名，浙江嘉兴人．美国科罗拉多州立大学硕士，曾任联合国专家及科罗拉多教授等职。夏菁是台湾 “蓝星诗社” 创始人之一，现为美国《诗天空》（Poetry Sky）双语季刊顾问。自1954年出版第一本诗集起，已有十一种，包括近年出版的双语诗集《夏菁短诗选》(2004) ， 及去年(2010)出版的《独行集》及《折扇》等。除诗以外，尚出版有散文四种。其诗文，近年来常在美国、台湾等地中文报纸及期刊发表。

Hsia Ching, the pen name of Ted C. Sheng, was born in Zhejiang, China in 1925. He received his M.S. degree from the Colorado State University (1966) and has worked with the United Nations and taught at the Colorado State University. Hsia Ching was one of the founders of the Blue Stars Poetry Society in Taiwan in early Fifties. Presently he is a consultant of Poetrysky. Since his first collection of poems published in 1954, he has produced a total of eleven volumes of poems including the recent two: Walking Alone and A Folding Fan (both 2010), and a English and Chinese anthology Selected Poems of Hsia Ching (2004). He has also published four volumes of essays. Still, he writes for Chinese newspaper and magazines in Taiwan and USA.

李作昌，1936 年生于江西南昌市。1957年毕业于台大电机系，1964年于斯坦佛大学电机系获博士学位。之后在美国高科技工业界从事研发工作长达三十八年。退休以后，重拾年轻时对诗的喜爱，开始写作发表。

T. C. Lee was born in Nanchang, Kiangsi, China 1936. He graduated with B. S. degree from National Taiwan University and from Stanford University with Ph. D in 1964, both in Electrical Engineering. Then he worked in R&D with the high tech industry in US for thirty eight years. After retirement he devoted his long hobby and love in poetry and starting writing poems for several magazines.

初醒

Waking Up

从另一个世界掉回
受惊于划空的鸟鸣
或床头的春雷

自一层茧的无形
破出，还不欲起飞
潜能有待肯定

假如我是一尊木乃伊
徐徐转动我的眼珠
较量周遭和回忆

一种周而复始的欢喜
每一次回苏，没有被
障眼的魔手阖起
			

Startled by the spring thunder off my bed,
Or by the birds twittering on the fly,
I return from another world

Bursting from a spirit in the cocoon,
Yet not ready to take a flight,
Ability as yet unknown.

Were I a mummy, 
I would rotate my eyeballs, compare surroundings,
And check my memory.

Wow, such recurring elation!
Each renewal freed
from the quick hand of the magician.
