Musen Shao has published five books of poetry, including Dhyana in Flowers and Trees and fiction Selected Fictions of Musen Shao. His works have been included in a number of anthologies and he has received many awards.

Prophecy

如果 把一些欢乐或忧伤的真事 
一辈人又一辈人传下来 
轮到我睁大眼睛听着时 
那可能成为神话了 
许多人 已经不相信 
那曾经的真实  
如果 把一些欢乐或忧伤的假设 
一辈子又一辈人传下来 
轮到我睁大眼睛听着时 
那依旧还是预言  
许多的人 也许会说 
那是美好的向往 
最忧伤的眼睛 
也看见过花的烂漫 
最清冷的月光 
也曾经给人以温暖的寄托 
我知道 预言其实多么虚妄啊 
比善变的股市 
更难预测 
而预言毕竟温软着我们脆弱的神经 
很少有人 
能够拒绝最虚幻的预言

Prophecy, I know, how empty it is!
Even the capricious stock market
Is easier to predict
But prophecy after all always calms our nerves
Very few
Can refuse the illusion of prophecy
