A Man's Death

Lost things accumulated: His body, hair, All his fingernails, Thirty-four teeth, (two of them made of plastic) His clothes, shoes, socks, A gold lion belt, His voice, Including his snores, His gasps upstairs, All his loves, His shameless cruelties, His gentleness and tenderness, His incurable disease. All things accumulated: A woman's shouting, Two drops of tears, A heap of smoke, Numberless red, teary eyes, A night's mahjong sound, Another man's accidental smile, An old woman' s heartfelt sigh, A full room of flower baskets, A blue and white porcelain urn, It was round, oblong or gourd-shaped.
