A self-taught photographer, artist, and technologist. His professional experience includes stints as a circus performer, pilot and senior business executive. In 2011, Roy published Park Bench Collection, a volume of his prose, poetry and drawings. His novel, House of Marlo, was published in 2012. Currently Roy divides most of his time between San Francisco and Paris, with occasional stopovers in New York.

Howard Friedman is an American-born technical writer living in Paris France. In 2003, Howard traveled with the San Francisco-based Eth-Noh-Tec storytelling group to Gengcun village in Hebei Province for a storytelling festival.
